What os are you running on the desktop? I have found if you are running vista you need to turn aero off. Aero does not play well with Epicor. We changed all of our clients from aero to vista basic and the performance issues went away.
Hope this help!

Yes, tech support should be the people to help you out, be diligent and forceful
in your attempts to get it escalated, it's the only way to get something done.
Be sure to let whoever you initially talk to know that you have already gone
through the tuning guide completely, and make sure you are on the most recent
OpenEdge Service pack prior to calling them.
Things to be checking are on your DB, the Spin Lock retries, the DB buffer,
APWs, lock table entries, message buffer sizes, number of servers, and then on
the AppServers the Message buffer size(Mm), Stack size(-s), and temp table
size(-Bt).
Tuning is an art form not really a one size fits all, this is what you need to
do, lots of variables to check and see how the server reacts to them.
However, with your problems, it sounds like there is a memory problem and I
suspect there is a hot fix out there for OE that you will need to apply.

We have been through the tuning guide and did not see any improvements. We are
new to Progress and the Epicor performance tuning overall.
Is there something specific we should be looking for?
Would tech support be able to help us if we called this in?
