ASCII Dump and Reload problem

Thanks Greg,
We are both on the same wave length at the same time except I had to delete the -rx at the end of the path to the shortcut. Don't know what made me think of it but now I am back in business.

Thanks,

Jill

Hi,
I am doing an ASCII Dump and Reload of our Test Database on a Test Server. I am on the step where I Dump the Data: (or Step #4.2 in the Epicor instructions) and the Table Contents (.d files) option in the OpenEdge Data Administration window under Admin -> Dump Data Definitions is grayed out and that is what I need to access next. Has anyone ever experienced this and knows how to fix it? It seems like it is a permissions thing. I am stuck in the middle of the Dump and Reload with nowhere to go. Can someone help me?

Make sure you have connected to the database with a user that has appropriate permissions. When you connect to it you may need to click advanced options and put in the user name of sysprogress password sysprogress

Hi,
I am doing an ASCII Dump and Reload of our Test Database on a Test Server.

Zac,
I did like you told me to and now I get an error box that says "** -P and -U startup parameters require _User file records. (709)". Do you know what this means?

Thanks,

Jill

It sounds to me like you forgot the step where you add the "-rx" to the end of the pat on the shortcut. It will leave certain menus grayed out if you are not in the maintenance mode. Check that.

Zac,

It is 64 bit progress. But I just figured it out. The icon for the Data Administration program had in it's properties a "-rx" at the end of it. I cleared that out and now it works like a charm. Thanks for trying to help me. It was much appreciated:>)
