Asterisks in Part Transaction History

While running the Part Tran History, the grid has some number fields with an asterisk in them.

I’ve never noticed these before. What do they mean?

I believe it means there was some type of conversion involved?
I first noticed this in our Part Transaction History Tracker when there was foot to inch length conversions.

That kind of makes sense as this part is stocked in GA, but issued in OZ.

Just that the asterisks aren’t exclusively on lines with the original tran qty’s in another UOM.

I’ve always thought that the asterisk mean that you aren’t seeing the exact amount (to the final decimal). If you select a field that contains an asterisk (in my case), you always see the exact number to the actual system decimal.

Al has it - it’s fields in any grid in Epicor where you are not seeing all the decimals.

My experience with this asterisk is that there are more decimals than the
UOM allows. It can happen several different ways.

It was tedious to fix these. On a quiet day you can change the UOM to allow
all decimals needed and the go do the quantity adjustment to bring it back
in. Then put the UOM decimal back.

I think it is more annoying than anything unless you need a part to have
zero quantity on hand to inactivate it.
