Yeah but how are they supposed to stop that from happening? Epicor wouldn’t know that we have 5 different parts that are all the same thing, except for their one attribute that makes them different?

No, there is no way of Epicor knowing that. That is up to the customer to know that part x and part y are the same thing except for the length.

Plenty of ways to screw yourself making parts already… UOM mistakes, bad naming practices… One more way will only spice things up

It takes a long time to deactivate over 8000 parts with an updatable dashboard btw. I just did it and I thought it was locked up.
