Automatically create make to job jobs when raising job for top level part

Hi,

We build certain products which have sub-assemblies which need to be built from separate jobs, rather than as sub-assemblies. The reason for this is the way we have built our product label BPM. I’d like us to change our label BPM at some point, but for the moment we’re stuck as we are. The way I have setup the BOMs for these products is to have parts on the BOM set to non-stock and MRP then runs, followed by auto firm and auto release. I was wondering if it’s possible to setup the BOMs in such a way I don’t need to worry about running MRP and auto firm/release, and that as soon as a job for the top level part is raised, jobs for the sub-assemblies are raised as make to job jobs?

Are your subassemblies marked as plan as? Also, do you have multi-job turned on?

Hi,

No, my sub-assemblies aren’t marked as plan as assembly and we don’t, to my knowledge have multi job turned on. If the sub-assemblies were marked as plan as assembly and we have multi job activated, would separate jobs be raised?

Yes. To get MRP to create every job for a top level part in one run, you need to make the subassembly part numbers Non-Stock, mark them as Plan As assembly on the MOM, and turn on the multi-job functionality
