I’m running into a problem with Automation Studio timing out on me while I’m working in the Studio. The right 1/3rd of the screen goes white with an error message that says ERROR timed out. This happens at random times always within 4 hours and often after only 30 to 60 minutes. This almost always causes lost work and a lot of frustrations! We are on Version 2024.1.7 (11.3.100) and we are on-prem 3rd party hosted.

Are you using Automation Studio through the Epicor client or in a web browser?

We don’t have the Automation Studio licensing, but this sounds really similar to the same issues I had when working in Application Studio.
I and a few other users would time out in similar intervals and it was starting to drive us crazy lol. Seemed to always be more prevalent after a large upgrade or a refresh.
One thing I’ve done that hasn’t fixed it entirely but made it a whole lot better, is check what the “License Timeout Minutes” value is set to in User Account Security Maintenance and make sure you have it cranked up a bit. I generally set most of ours to something like 1000+ minutes. It doesn’t always fix it entirely, but it should reduce the frequency.
Are you guys already live? If not - make sure you if you update the timeout values in Production, to do the same in TEST. I forgot to do this a few times and we’d run back into this issue again after a couple of months once we’d perform the refresh process and wipe transactional data in Prod for more testing.
I’ve noticed recently over the past few months that IDP logins seem to be having a lot of authentication issues especially with the more recent Kinetic upgrades.

Nice! Mine was set to 15 and that may have been it! I never have issues in the regular Epicor, just Automation Studio. We are live with ours and I have a lot of Automations already. Its really a nice way to do thing. This timeout thing was driving me nuts though! Hope this is the solution here too! I’ll let you know! Thanks for the tip!

It’s kinda weird. I never really saw it happen often in the general Kinetic screens either, only in stuff like Application/Automation Studio/MES where the screens are a separate environment of sorts.
