Availability Report Question

We kinda had this issue with inventory transfer for our tooling. They wanted the "transfer from" to be where it actually was, not the default bin, so I wrote a BPM that looked for the actual location and populated the field. Perhaps you could write a BPM that would auto-populate the Rev you wanted?

Yes, I have user issues with this too - sorry I don't have a good solution.

I see why the system makes assumptions - if it didn't, it couldn't do a lot automatically.

As for the Availability report...
The plain text version didn't cover all my needs & can't be modified.
I ended up building a custom version using ODBC.

9.04.507A
When you enter a part number in the Availability report the system returns either the highest rev number or the rev number with the most current effective date (I haven't determined which yet). Our problem is we have an earlier rev that is our approved rev and would like the approved rev to be automatically populated when you enter a part number. Any thoughts on if this program is operating correctly or is there an easy fix to make it select the approved rev?
I'm not familiar with the availability report but..

I do have parts with multiple approved revisions.
As far as I know the system always defaults to approved revisions with the latest date. If needed, I can manually select older approved revisions for quote, order, job, etc...

In our situation, we only have 1 approved rev. It is an older rev, but we
thought the report should default to the approved rev. I did test creating
a job from a part and it defaults to the approved rev. The report does
allow you to select a rev, but if our user doesn't know the part that well,
it is not obvious the system selected rev is not the approved rev.

Thanks for your response.
