Backflush Final Operation

Many of our parts go into different size boxes and require other packaging materials in the box that we would rather not issue. We were backflushing the parts on the final operation however if any scrap is reported on that operation then in backflushes the scrapped % of the packaging materials based on the BOM information. If we scrap some, we don’t throw away a box… I’ve setup a backflush operation as the final operation to account for the “packing” and all of the packaging materials, however when I run the backflush labor process it doesn’t report against that operation.

The one that did work was embedded between operations, but took the total quantity good to be last operation good + last operation scrap which is basically the same issue as if we had just left everything backflushed in the first place… Any suggestions?

Close the job and backflush should happen thereafter.

Nope, per Epicor support backflush operations cannot be final operations because the completed quantity comes from the manually entered information at the “final operation”.

Ran into this issue recently with a site we just implemented. For whatever reason, this site need to have the PACK operation on the job router but they didn’t want to do MES labor against it, so we made the operation before the last PACK operation the “Final Operation”. This way the job quantity completed would reflect in places like Job Receipt to Inventory and the Job Closing screen.
