We have a series of material parts, all are listed in the BOM, that are marked for Backflush in Part-sites. However, when we create a job, it doesn’t pull it in as backflush?
Backflush happens after the operation it is tied to is completed.
What I am trying to say is when the job is created, it should show in the Job that itis a backflush material. However, it does not even though it is marked as such in Part entry.
Is it marked as backflush on the MOM?
I know of BOO and BOM, but not sure on the MOM location.
The MOM (Method of Manufacture) is the BOO + the BOM.
Sorry for the basic questions, but are you talking about looking at the rev in Engineering workbench?
No worries! Sorry if I’m using too much Epicorisms.
Yes.
That is what I was thinking, just wanted clarification. I do not see backflush listed:
Am I looking in the right place?
Sorry, forgot to mention that you need to look at the related operation. What is the Labor Entry on op 10?
Ah! Its set to Qty Only. So that is what needs to be changed to Backflush.
No T&Q or Qty only will allow you to backflush parts. When you add it to the MOM (BOM) and then pull that into a job it should be pulling in the backflush setting from the Part-Site. AFAIK you cannot change it in the REV, it is stored in the Part-Site and then applied to the job, you can override it in the job though.
Do you only have the single site, if no, are all your sites setup to backflush for this part or could you creating the job against a site that doesn’t?
Do all parts work like this or only some?
Do you have any BPMs or other customizations that may be changing the Backflush flag on the job after running Get Details?
If you create a dummy job and add the material manually, does it come in as Backflush?
That’s right. Listen to @leonardpothier
That’s for backflushing the labor/operation. That’s a different thing. And for anyone else reading this, there is a process you have to schedule to backflush labor, it doesn’t do automatically like backflushing material does.
