BAQ for Labor Transactions

You can do this as a two step report... you could write a BPM to get the data you want to print out into a UD table and then do a simple BAQ out of that UD Table, the idea is basically have a simple custom screen with a button satug "execute report" this button will fire a BPM on your UD table massage and prepare all your data and insert it in the UD table itself, after that you will go to your BAQ/Dashboard/Report to print the information as a simple select of all records on your UD .

We have done this in the past when we are trying to execute a complex query that the BAQ engine is simply not powerful enogh to execute by itself.

In an attempt to display information for Labor Transactions after linking LaborHed and JobProd with Job Number, the query just hangs.  Is there a problem with linking the LaborHed/LaborDtl and JobProd or JobHead table?

Has this database been in production usage very long?  Like more than several years?  LaborDtl can grow very large over time – especially with larger numbers of employees and frequent clocking activities.  I usually make sure I have all links using as much of any index paths as possible and then, when possible, filter on an item in such an index – especially a date if possible, such as > 01/01/2015 or maybe a base transaction number (first # of the year).   Beyond that double check the links from LaborDtl to JobProd via JobNum – like a lot of other situations trying to link manufacturing activities to orders is often problematic but it can be done.
