BAQ Query - setting up calc fields and using them in Criteria

I'm trying to make my way around creating BAQ Queries. I've created my
query retrieving my data from five different tables. My calculated
field is
@purch_cost = {Part.PurchasingFactor} * {PODetail.UnitCost}is

As part of the retrieval query I need to set the fields as follows:
{PODetail.OpenLine} = True and
{PartCost.StdMaterialCost} <> {@purch_cost}

When I am working on the criteria I can't see my calc field
(@purch_cost). Does anyone know how I make this accessible?
