Blank PO saved - cannot delete it [SMC WIRE FABRICATORS]

I had this happen here, a blank vendor in a PO causes all kinds of trouble.
You need to call Vantage tek support and they will have to e-mail you a
program to close the PO's.

Sarah,

Are you using Mike's Time out utility?? Check and see if you have a blank
vendor in your vendor file. If there is a blank vendor, this allows people
to enter PO's without a vendor number.

I have a problem that I have never seen before! I have 3 PO's in a row all
saved in my 'Open' PO list, they have no information, no vendor, no lines,
nothing, yet they are saved with PO#'s. If I try to call up one of these
thru PO Entry I get the following errors:

**No POHeader Record is Available. (91)
Error attempting to push run time parameters onto the stack. (984)

Has anyone seen this before? I would love to know how they got created and
how I can delete them.

DOH! ... sorry for the dupe. message. Accidentally discovered the the
control key for "send now"

I'd shut down and restart the Vantage session at my PC and then check if
they're still there. If they are, I'd be seriously concerned about index
corruption on the server. You could also use R.B. or Crystal to see if the
records are visible from there.

I'd shut down and restart the vantage

Apparantly, these 'blank' PO's can get created if there is a 'blank' vendor
in your vendor list. (per tech support). There is a fix program to close
them out. Although epicor has seen this before, they do not know how the
blank vendor was created in the first place.

Thanks, I did have a blank vendor. I am not using the time-out utility (but
I did use it when we were on 4.0). Do you have some idea as to how these
blank vendors were created?

Sarah,
We've had a couple times when a user was in the middle of entering a transaction, left their workstation for a phone call or something and got 'timed out' of Vantage, which left a blank record hanging around. I think a blank vendor was one of those instances. It makes a bigger mess if you are creating a Group in AP because you can't post the group and you've got to move all the items to a new group and then do a database utility to fix the group so that it can be deleted.
