I have added a VB form user field to the Bill of Lading detail file. I
would like to print this field on the bill of lading but the user
defined fields are not included in the dbf's created. Is there any way
to link the BOLDetail table to the crystal report or has anyone found
another way around this problem?

We are running Vantage 6.1. Thanks!

KR
Did you in crystal under the "Database" drop down menu "Verify Database" to
pickup the new fields?

Yes but I am having trouble linking the BOLDetail file. When I try to
link the company id I get a message:

File link warning The specified ields may not link successfully due
to different type.

but the link stays. When I try to link the BOLNUM, I get the error:

Invalid file link. Not all fields in the same index expression.

and the link disappears. I am trying to link the BOLDetail table from
our live account to the bolhead dbf in the working directory. Is this
correct or do I need to link the BOLHead table as an intermediate
step?

Thanks! KR

Don't forget to assign an external name to the vb field. That is what
triggers Vantage into downloading the fields.

In the form it is already linked to the BOLDetail. The vbform field is
exported to the temp table for BOLDetail using the external name you assign
in the VBFORM. Verify the database and it should appear.
