I'm looking for a way to use BPM to start a service connect workflow.
By exporting a file or some other way. I saw in BPM that there is an
action that you can call a specified service connect workflow but i
was never able to get that to work. Support said that it really
doesn't start a workflow so i don't really know what it is supposed to
do. Has anyone had any luck with this? Or does anyone have any other
way to start the workflow (exporting a query through BPM or something?)

thanks

Daniel
Daniel,

It is possible to call a Service Connect workflow from a BPM ...
A BPM can call a workflow and does it very well.

How far are you getting when you attempt to call the ESC workflow using BPM?

I am able to see and select my workflows from BPM but that is about
it. when the BPM runs, i don't know what happens. Does it send a
file to the workflow? I was looking for a file that so i could
generate an input schema file from it but i couldn't find one.

As of ESC 8.2

Go to Service Connect Workflow and in File, Process Properties,
Document Tracking ... set it to required ...

Fire off BPM and be sure to look Inbound Documents, all events to see
if the workflow was fired off ..

Great, that seemed to work. In the workflow, when i mark Document
Tracking to Required, what is that actually doing? Thanks for the
help by the way.

I am able to see my workflow being called but I can't figure out how
to read the data. I don't know what schema to use for the first
webservice after being triggered to start from BPM. For instance, BPM
fires a Service connect workflow from the SalesOrderEntry Update. For
my first webservice, what is the input schema? Is it
SalesOrderService>update response or SalesOrderService>update request?
or do i have to save something to an xml file and use generate schema
to create my own input? THanks!
