BPM on Clock in / Clock out

In pre-processing you should be able to set ttCallContextBpmData.Character01 to the employeeID. Then use ttCallContextBpmData.Character01 in place of employeeid

Thanks, That's not what I wanted to hear, but I kind of figured out.

Â

Yes. The post process directive would not have an Employee value.

You and this users group are valuable selling features for Epicor.

One last? Question on this topic. I have my BPM working for the clockin
using a preprocessing method. On the clockout my testing shows the
parameter will work on a preprocessing method, but I need it for a post
processing method. It appears as if the parameter cleared before the post
processing method occurs. Does this sound right?

I am trying to create a Method Directive when an employee clocks in and clocks out. My trace shows empbasic.clockin and empbasic.clockout are being run. When I try to pull the employee num for the directive, I cannot find any tt tables available. Is there a way I can pull the employee num so I can run my BPMs at these times? ttCallcontextbpmdata is available. I am not sure how to use this. I checked character01 and shortchar01 to see if the employee num was stored here, but I did not see it.
Why don't you try the "Labor" business object...

I don't have your Version Readely available but in the version I am ClockIn
takes 2 params

EmployeeID, Shift form Employee ID you can get EmpNum by linking over to
the Labor Records and EmpBasic tables etc.

I see in the trace the 2 parms. My problem is how do I code for the parms?
I want to use the condition that checks the results of a query. I need help
in coding the parm to link to empbasic. My experience is with linking
fields from one table to another.

Not sure what you mean about how do you use the params... you can use them
in any 4GL like this

FOR EACH table WHERE table.Field = param:
END.

Appreciate your help, but I am still missing something. When I keyed:

for each EmpBasic where EmpBasic.EmpID = param.

And clicked Check Query. I get an error message
"** Unable to understand after -- "EmpBasic.EmpID =". (247)"

If I am understanding the trace, the parm is EmployeeID.
<tracePacket>
<businessObject>Epicor.Mfg.BO.EmpBasic</businessObject>
<methodName>ClockIn</methodName>
<returnType>void</returnType>
<localTime>7/11/2013 11:15:37:4997457 AM</localTime>
<executionTime>62.3988</executionTime>
<parameters>
<parameter name='employeeID' type='System.String'
><![CDATA[316]]></parameter>
<parameter name='shift' type='System.Int32'
><![CDATA[22]]></parameter>
</parameters>
</tracePacket>

When I Check Query, I get the message Query is OK.

for each EmpBasic where EmpBasic.EmpID = 'employeeID'

My condition is the number of rows IS MORE THAN 0. (I used this to verify
I am getting a valid Empbasic record.) My action is a raise exception halt.
When I clock in an employee with this in place, I do not get my halt. If I
remove the condition, I do get the halt. (this tells me the business object
is being run).

Since this is the first time I have used a parm in my condition, I think I
may still have something wrong. I did put single quotes around the parm.
Do you see anything I am doing wrong.

[Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
A BIG THANK YOU.
FYI, when I right clicked and got the parameters, the field came back as
%employeeID%. When I used this I again got an error, so I put a single
quote around this and tried to clock in and got my halt.

Jose, I hope you are on Epicor's payroll. You have helped me and lots of
others make their product more useful.

Thanks again for your help and your time.
Mike

You and this users group are valuable selling features for Epicor.

One last? Question on this topic. I have my BPM working for the clockin
using a preprocessing method. On the clockout my testing shows the
parameter will work on a preprocessing method, but I need it for a post
processing method. It appears as if the parameter cleared before the post
processing method occurs. Does this sound right?

Thanks, That's not what I wanted to hear, but I kind of figured out.
