I have read a couple of threads that seem to address this, but I still don't get it. Hopefully someone help me see the light.
Epicor 9.04.507a
I am trying to warn our user if he tries to issue material from one warehouse to another warehouse. This may be valid so I need a BPM that creates a warning when this happens and allows the user to stop or continue. I have a condition that identifies when 2 warehouses are involved. I have created a BPM data form with 2 buttons, ok and stop. My question is how do I make this an action and then react to the user response.
Mike,

Any luck with this? I'm trying something similar as well...

As it is now, any button has the same action as a "OK" button, in that it moves forward.

I talked to Tony Wilby (VP of R&D at Epicor) at Insights and told him what they really needed was a baked in "OK" and "Cancel" that on the pre-process would stop any progress towards the base method if the user clicked "Cancel".

He agreed - I said what would be perfect would be some way of kicking out an exception that was silent to basically stop forward progress to the base method and then return them to the current form.

If there's some other way of easily accomplishing this, I'm not aware of it.

What I'm really trying to do is if the users selects Yes, it enables a post-processing directive, and if they select No it doesn't stop the method from finishing but doesn't enable the post-processing directive.

I'm thinking I could do this in the background by customizing the form and if they select Yes then make BPMData.ShortChar01 = "yes", No makes BPMData.ShortChar01 = "no" and then key off that with a post-processing condition, if BPMData.ShortChar01 = "yes" then the post-processing action will be triggered.

You can do this fairly easy simply put a customization on the bpm data form
which when you click the cancel button just closes the form then make sure
that your action is tied to a value on the data form. If i have some time
ill scribble something uo for you

Ahh that's nice. Similar to what Tony just sent me, he added a BPM in order after the initial one that called an exception, but yours is much cleaner and self-contained.

Wish there was a silent exception though where a cancel simply returned back to the previous page, but I guess I'll go with what I have available and be thankful I have that.

Also since Tony sent me a response pointing to a similar example, I'm guessing a silent exception isn't going to happen.

As a side note, what software did you use to record that little example, kinda nice in the zooming effect. Camtasia or something?

Thanks for the example Jose.

Awesome, thanks a lot Jose! Seeing how you can use those sequence numbers from the data form designer explained everything.

Pre-processing Action:
Call the Scheduling BPM Data Form using no customization always
and enable dependent post process directives

Post-processing Condition:
this directive has been enabled from the Enable Lower Leverl Scheduling directive
and the ttCallContextBpmData.ButtonValue field is equal to the 1112 expression

Hello,

I am wondering if anyone has created a BPM to prevent BOM changes if the
user is in one plant but the Part Rev belongs to another. We have two
plants and sometimes users modify the BOMs which belong to the other
plant.

Thanks Jose. That explains it perfectly. You should write a tech book. I
