Buggy Client Install

We have the same issue.
And I do the regular install and then just copy the mfgsys files from the server client config folder to the client.

No.

Do not mess with that .zip file, there is no point to it, putting those
.mfgsys files in there will only mess things up for you, since they will be
deleted next time you do a service pack.

You're actual problem is with the way you are installing the client.

Using that .msi file isn't the way to do it, you should just copy the
Epicor905\Client folder to the location you want to install it to, the only
thing that install program does it set up the folder with the auto-update
file and then it copies all the files over the first time you run the
program.

Keep a set of Icons for your default install location and then copy those
and the client folder to your workstation when you do an install. You can
either copy direct from the server or just put it on a memory stick to copy
as well.

I guess that is my problem. There is only one in there (default.mfgsys) and
this is the only one that works after the client install.
The others (Pilot, Test, Train) are in use but the config files are not in
the Releaseclient.zip

If I look in EPICOR904\client\config, all the correct config files are in
there. Should I just copy these config file into the Releaseclient.zip?

Hi All,

E9.04.506A

When I install the E9 client, by using Epicor9Client.msi in the
EPICOR904 folder, everything seems to go smoothly. I then start Epicor 9
and the rest of the client is downloaded.

After it finishes, I'm finding that the config files are not working.
There is only about 15 lines and when I try to start the client it
errors out, mainly because it doesn't have the information to find the
server.

I've never had this problem before. Is there something I can fix so that
future client installs work as expected?

Thanks for the reply.
If I look at the Releaseclient.zip that is located in the deployment
folder, it only contains the default.mfgsys
Should I add the pilot, test, and train configs files to this zip file?

You can
either copy direct from the server or just put it on a memory stick to copy
as well.
