Hello everyone,
The Controller would like to do some what-if testing on burden rate changes. Specifically, he would like to test a scenario where, say Burden rates were changed 12/31/2025 and see what that impact would be as of today.
I know of no way to do this - has anyone faced a similar instance?

On a job-by-job basis you could write a BAQ to show the labor and burden that went into that job. Report it out in hours, then you can manually calculate the burden cost. I would have to do this one job at a time at first, checking to make sure my assumptions make sense. Poke around in the laborDtl table to pull out the labor and burden hours by job. That’s how I would start. Good luck!
You might want to look at a UD field on the Resource table. Then you can shove in whatever rate you want. Then, as @NateS suggested, build a BAQ on LaborDtl that substitutes the actual rate with your hypothetical.
Upside of having it in the system is that you can easily cross reference other tables that touch resources too. E.g. PartOpDtl to test what part costing will look like.
Thanks Nate. I was thinking something similar to this. Not the solution they were looking for, but realize it’s a stretch to do a plug-and-play solution.
