Can Epicor Create Checks From a Blank Check Stock?

A huge percentage of banks now use OCR so you don't need MICR Ink
necesarely depends on the bank

We currently use Epicor to print part of the check (Check #, date, dollar amount, recipient, and recipient's address). We then tell Epicor to PRINT the check to a "printer" which really isn't a printer, but another program that creates the check template, bar code, bank logo and routing numbers.

Is there a way to have Epicor create the entire check from a blank stock?
Sure Checks are nothing but Crystal Reports. Just make your report match
the Check Stock dimensions and it should work just fine.

Absolutely.

The only thing I needed was to acquire the MICR font so I could use it in
Crystal for the ABA/Routing and Acct numbers. You can get free fonts out
there.

Modify the existing Crystal check form and add your borders, bank logo, etc
and you're set. You can even scan the signature in and add it as an image.

I understand the Crystal Report aspect of the form, but do you know where in Epicor to implement the necessary changes?
I guess "How do I do this?" is the question I'm asking

IN Company there is report Style Maintenance Program which you can open and
find the AP Check style or whichever you are looking for then you will see
it references an RPT file that is the Crystal Report file it uses, simply
find that file in your server open it in Crystal Developer and make the
desired changes

Correct me if I am wrong, but you would need a MICR printer/ink to print the MICR at the bottom of the check?

I'm not sure what your need is for Checks, but I know in businesses I have worked in they have tried really hard to get their vendors and customers onto EFT.

This eliminates the need for the checks and you just go with a remittance advice only, which can be printed and mailed, emailed as PDF or if you have APM (doclink) then you can send them to the ERM printer for distribution to the other party. (vendor, customer).
