Can't add new task to Task Agent

Hi, we just had a server downtime and when the server came back online all registered databases and application pools in EAC had errored. I have been able to restore these but task agent will not let me add a new agent.

I have done the following:
I tried to stop the task agent service and had the below error

I had to manually stop it in Task Manager

When restart the service and open Task Agent Configuration I get the error below and the Configuration tool open but the new task option is not available

I have Uninstalled the Task Agent Configuration tool and reinstalled it but I get the same error.

I was hoping all the previous configured agents will will still be available.

If I am not mistaken shouldn’t the task agent service setting be the default?

On your server, press Win + R and type services.msc and hit ok.

When the Services window opens, find the Epicor Ice Task Agent service. If its in any status but “Stopped”, right click and stop the service. Then right click and Start the service.

Hi @kve I did that already. It started but the application has the same error. And when i try to restart or stop the service i still get the same error.

Is it possible the account running the service has an expired password or has been locked out?

@kve the service was using the local account before, I have changed it to a service account but still has the error. The service account password isn’t expired.

Found a way around it, just in case anyone wants it.

I had to uninstall the task agent and delete all the log files
C:\ProgramData\Epicor Software Corporation\ICE TaskAgent Service\Logs

then reinstalled and added a new agent
