Can't close jobs due to pending inspections

Thank you very much. I have passed this on to our Quality Manager.

Juliet,
We have been using the QA module extensively starting in 5.1 for over
2 years now. Presently we are in 6.0 and will go to 6.1 in May.
The problem you are having is due to an open item in the Inspection
Processing area (originating from a non-conformance). It doesn't
really matter how the non-conformance was entered (PO receipts, Data
Collection or direct in the Non-conformance page) If the open
inspection is left in inspection processing page you will run into
this error. All pending inspections must be accounted for prior to
closing a job. Ownership and dilligence is how we minimize its
affects (unfortunately we are less than perfect). There are only a
few employees who are allowed to enter non-conformances (mostly the
QC and test departments). Once they have entered a non-conformance,
they own it. As well as any DMR. It is their responsibility to track
these. Most importantly we have a rule that the inspection processing
page shall be blank at all times. Only a short period of time is
allowed to decide whether to accept the non-conformance or to reject
it to the DMR process. (Defined as before you leave the terminal). A
benefit to keeping this list short, when the error does come up you
dont have to look very hard to find it.
Hope this helps.
