We have many customer payments that come in that will not match the invoice amount exactly, usually due to rounding (same currency so it is not currency rounding). So if we have an invoice for $5,000.16 and the customer pays $5,000 we want the $.16 to automatically go to a write off account. We can't treat it as a discount on terms but need it to post the difference automatically. So I figured we would enter the invoice as fully paid so it is not on the customer account then use a field that would auto generate the write off account and post it.
Anyone doing something

We have not been able to find a way to automatically write it off unless you report it as a discount. The way we have done it is to report the cash payment received by the customer and then do a write off for the balance to the appropriate account.
