We’ve been using the change log for years, but we were much happier with it in Vantage. Today in E10.1.400.10 we get only the one collection method – DAILY – set in company Config > Modules > All Modules > General. Unfortunately the Daily method creates text entries that are extremely difficult to parse to be of use for our business controls. After further investigation on the issue you reported, I found that there are a couple of SCRs on this Change Log Collection method.
Long story short is that the Change log Collection method field has been made obsolete, The field is available on the UI but there is no code behind to support it.
This unfortunately is by design but there are plans to “Enhance” its function with Audit tracking functionality, coming in the future release, it will take care of the functionality without the need to change any settings on the Company Configuration UI.
The SCRs are 157822 & 157761 and are targeted for the 10.1 release due out soon. I’m sorry for the inconvenience of this application behavior.
