Change the PDF name when emailing a report from the print screen?

Forgive me if I’m missing another recent topic addressing this issue - the last one I could find was from 2018 and I’m hoping something has changed since then!

I’m attempting to email a custom report style via the report print screen > “Send by Email” option. I initially hoped to do this with print routing, but the users want to be able to change the recipients at time of sending and not rely on a field in the database. “Send by Email” is working fine, except our report style is built off of the MtlTags report and the PDF is being named “MtlTags” which doesn’t reflect the content of this report style.

I’m looking for a way to update the name of the attached PDF. I would be fine with changing the name to something constant (like “Vendor Notice”), but even that doesn’t appear to be an option.

Anyone else find a solution for naming report PDFs when emailing a report through the “Send by Email” option?

Could you launch a BPM form that the user would edit or change the email address(es)?
Could also do the same for the file name?

That’s my next approach if I couldn’t find an existing way to accomplish it… I’m surprised Epicor doesn’t let you name the report attachment from the “Send by Email” screen!

Put this in as an Epicor Idea… it would have traction.
