Changing drop down menus to have different defaults

Is there a way to change the way the drop downs default when opening up a screen?

Currently I have 4 choices on a drop down, but I want to change the one that shows up as default to one that is not shown when you open the screen up.

Is there a way to do this to reorder the choices? I have tried going into Dynachange, but that doesn’t allow me to change the items just the way the screen looks.

Which screen and which dropdown? You could write a business rule that would set the dropdown value on window opening

How would you go about writing a rule?
