I find it both humorous and eerie that of all of your posts on Epiusers that’s the quote it chose.
Got a spam email from Epicor today with a link: AI-Powered Business Insights & Automation | Epicor U.S. and Canada
Hadn’t heard of it before. I wonder if TPTB are in a board room conjuring how they can charge more for the AI stuff based on situations. Or maybe they’re asking ChatGPT the best way to maximize profits.
Prompt: “Show me a list of RMAs from customer ABC”
Prism: “I’m sorry your company did not purchase the RMA Prism module. Contact Epicor Support to purchase it.”
Prompt: “Create a new quote for customer XYZ”
Prism: “I’m sorry your limit of 15 Prism generated quotes has been met. Please contact support to purchase more Prism quote generation licenses.”
Other thoughts:
-
Once people are using Prism and new hires come on board, they’ll be trained to enter data and eventually interact with Epicor only via Prism. Good and bad I guess.

Foreboding in that it sounds like “prison”, no?
I think this was in response to an insights thread if I remember correctly, without looking it up.
Yep, to @dpassenant ![]()
Yup! Wouldn’t be surprised. It’ll probably run in the background and say “We’ll make you XXXX if you click here and give us 5% of the savings!”. Just like PBM’s…
Epicor increased our on-prem maintenance fee very significantly this year with the justification of ‘AI’ on one hand, yet the other hand says ‘No AI for on-prem!’. Really? ![]()
Where are the benefits of this AI?
@klincecum hat upgrade?
