Check credit card authorizations at fulfillment, before shipping

Our plant manager sent this picture (and gave permission to post it!) – All the boxes that are piled in front of the shipper are credit card declines that can’t be shipped. This happens when we finally get backordered items in stock, and a big wave of orders gets released for shipping. Checking the auth at shipping is too late and causes this backup. Running the sale at time of order entry for back orders is too early.

Is there some way to check the credit card for a valid authorization for orders as they are sent to picking?

Just thinking out loud how we can streamline shipping…

Do you release orders through fulfillment workbench? if so, you can reauthorize at picking…image

Brian - Great, thanks! Not sure how I missed that. I’m sure once we turn it on, someone else will complain and ask to turn it back off again. Let me test a bit…

the reauthorize before shipping/picking also helps with orders that have the pre-authorization expire. I think paypal authorizes for 30 days.
