Citrix Web Presentation Client Version 10.x

We have a remote site in Singapore running the Vantage 8.03.407 client
as a RemoteApp on a Windows 2008 terminal server in Houston (running as
a VM in a VMware cluster). We average 50-60 active users. When the users
logged in for the first time, the server was pegged for a while as the
new profiles were being created. Otherwise the performance is equal to a
standalone hardware-based client.

We tested Citrix and found it to perform the same but added no
functionality that would justify the higher price.

I worked with someone that has Citrix - to deploy remote access out to the
field.
It worked really well.
They were running Xenapp 5.
You would log into their site by entering vpn.companyname.com - and a login
page would come up.
Each sales rep was given a key fob that would send out a random password
every few minutes to be used if you needed to log in remotely.

Hope this helps,

We are running Vantage 8.03.305i on Xenapp 5. We publish applications through the web server, and everything runs pretty smoothly.

One problem we are facing, is that we are using the universal print drivers. They seem to work just fine, except the users can't print to anything but 8.5 x 11. I am pretty sure if I take the time to add the appropriate print drivers to the farm, it will resolve the issue.

I would also suggest following their sizing guide pretty closely. I have supported MetaFrame servers in the past, and when I saw their sizing guide, I laughed. We bought 2 large servers, and even though resource utilization is sitting at about 10 percent, Vantage starts freezing when we get over 25-30 users per server. My guess is a file sharing issue. Stick with more small servers would be my suggestion.
