Classic customization has to be re-imported

We have are on-premise and have upgraded from 10.2.300.32 to 2021.1.8. We have the Kinetic UI turned off for all users and are continuing with the Classic client for the foreseeable future.

In many respects the upgrade went quite well, but I’m experiencing an intermittent problem with some of our classic customizations. Periodically for some unknown reason, a customization for a screen will stop loading and only the Base will load. To restore function of the customization I have to re-import it using an XML Export that was taken while it was working.

I haven’t been able to identify a trigger that causes this behavior. It seems random and does not seem to affect all customizations. Nor does it affect all customizations at once. I’ve removed customization privileges for almost everyone to eliminate unintentional changes to customizations.

Has anyone encountered a similar behavior?

Not yet, it’s not a problem that I can reproduce on demand. There is also a Base layer extension from Century Business Solutions that sits between my customization and the Epicor Base layer. When this problem occurs the CBS extension does load. I’ve been talking to CBS about this, and they’ve not seen this before. The presence of the Base Layer extension will likely complicate the ability to get Epicor support very interested in this…which I understand.
