Client Time Out

We use a 90 minute Progress Timeout on the Vantage Server for direct users
who are in all day long and can't afford to lose where they're at when
engaged in a long phone call. For others we use a 15 minute Terminal Server
Timeout. Vantage actually performs better on TS because it's a better PC and
has a 1gbs connection to the Vantage Server, bypassing our 100mbs network.
But the direct users want the longer timeout. We haven't had any problems
with this arrangement.

I don't believe it's possible to use the Progress Timeout on TS since the
Progress Admin Server is running on Vantage Server, not TS.

I am looking for a utility program that will automatically disconnect a user
from Vantage after a period of inactivity. I contacted Vantage support and they
sent a program that is installed on the Vantage server but it does not work.
Vantage support suggested contacting Mike Podlin who has a utility program that
is installed on each workstation that supposedly does the job. Does anyone know
how to contact Mike?

Thanks,

I purchased the utility from Mike and it works great.
You can contact him at the following: MPodlin@...

We no longer allow attachments to files. To access/share Report Files,
please go to the following link: http://www.egroups.com/files/vantage/
(Note: If this link does not work for you the first time you try it, go to
www.egroups.com, login and be sure to save your password, choose My Groups,
choose Vantage, then choose Files. If you save the password, the link above
will work the next time you try it.)
I tried searching in the archives and did not bring any results. Does
anyone know how to setup a clienttimeout on vantage 4.0?
thanks
We have implemented the client time out feature to time out users
who have been idle for 30 minutes. I saw a posting from a few months
back where someone has a different client time out for terminal
server (Citrix) users than they do for users directly connecting to
Vantage. How is this? Do you set up a different client time out on
the Terminal Server? Does it allow this since Progress is loaded on
the terminal server? Any help would be appreciated. I have one upper
level management user who wants to be excluded from the time out.

Thanks
