Sales order demand for a part was cancelled and now we need to delete the make-to-stock job that was intended for it.
Material was already issued to the job, and then returned, so no costs are currently on the job.
Can we just use Job Closing to Complete/Close this job and have no cost or supply/demand consequence? If not, what is the recommended method to get rid of this job?
Anything abandoned on the job will get booked to manufacturing variance. If you’ve returned all material, then the only thing that might go to variance is labor/burden. If your job doesn’t have any labor, then there should be no accounting transactions from closing the job.
In terms of supply/demand, since this is a direct job, closing the related SO line/release will eliminate the demand.
Thanks. There is no labor cost on our jobs and the demand link is make-to-stock, not direct. So this will work well.
