Closing a line in Sales Order Entry

Is the shipped field ticked in customer entry? i.e. was the shipment
listed in 'get shipments' under invoice entry ?

A sales order was completed (items shipped) but the line status box
showed as "open". I was instructed to close the lines and when I did
it then showed "voided" instead of the word "closed". Why would it do
that if there was a Bill of Lading it could tie itself to?

Also, when there is not a Bill of Lading generated but we invoiced the
customer for the line item I have to go back in and close the line but
the line status ends up showing as "voided" instead of closed. Why is
that?

Seems "voided" is what is does most of the time when we close lines.
Anyone's help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks.
Sounds like you are not shipping the items in "Customer Shipment Entry", but
are just manually creating invoices.

No, our shipping dept did ship out through Customer Shipment Entry
that is why we thought it strange that Vantage would act this way.
Any other suggestions as to what might have happened?

Thanks.

Did someone reopen it to update a price or other information after
shipment?

What does it look like at the table level?

(OrderHed.OpenOrder, OrderHed.VoidOrder, OrderDtl.OpenLine, OrderDtl.VoidLine, OrderRel.OpenRelease, OrderRel.VoidRelease)

If it's truly voided, some of those void fields should be 'true'. If it's only closed and misdisplaying the status, none of the void fields will be 'true' but some of the Open fields should be 'false'.

Do you have your change logs turned on for those field(s)? You could
see exactly who/when and possibly determine what action caused it to
become closed which might help figure it out.
