Closing a SO Line Closes The Order

Hey there,

I’m in the process of converting a list of part numbers to new part numbers.

When I get to sales orders, I want to add a new line and release, and then close the old line.

The new line adds fine (in DMT), with a good release quantity.

When I close the original line, either in DMT or from the SO form, it closes the whole order.

The new order line and release both have the OpenLine/OpenRelease flags set = true, and there is an open quantity left on the new line and release.

I don’t see any BPMs looking at order closing.

What am I missing?

Thanks,

Joe

My first thought would be to compare the line that is there originally (manually added?) vs. the DMT added one. It sounds like a field isn’t being set on the DMTd line and epicor isn’t realizing it’s open. I’d probably jump right to reporting this as a bug, because regardless what the other fields say, open release/line obviously means don’t close the header. Lol

If you close the only line on an order, it will close the order.

Good suggestions both… I’d also try just closing the release. If all the releases on a line are closed, the line should close automatically. IF @GabeFranco is correct, and the ORDER closes, then the new lines created aren’t being recognized somehow.

There are two open lines on the order with one open release each. When I close line 1, it closes the order plus the other line.

Oddly, when I reopen line two the release is open. But line one and the release are closed.

I queried out the lines/releases, and line 1 looks just like line two, except for the new part number in line and release.

Closing only the release seems to work. Thanks for the info!

woo hoo! this still seems like it should be reported as a bug - this doesn’t seem like desired behavior. Closing Line1/Release1 while Line2/Release1 remains open should not close the Order Header.
