FYI - I attempted to do a DB Refresh of PILOT yesterday, and after 45 minutes of processing it errored out.
After opening a support case, it turns out that when you configure the refresh it asks for the date of the backup of LIVE that you want to restore to PILOT.
This date defaults to the current date. This is a problem because no backup of LIVE had been made on that date yet! To resolve the issue, I re-ran the process and chose the prior day, and the DB Refresh completed successfully.
To summarize, there were multiple issues:
- The CMP UI is not providing the user with only date choices that actually have backups.
- There is no UI option I could find which listed backups that I could manually check.
- The DB Refresh process does not verify existence of the backup until halfway through the process. One would think this would be done upfront.
- Two steps (“Activities”) in the DB Refresh process still showed as “Pending” even though the other steps showed as “Completed” and the overall status showed as “Completed”. According to support those two steps were no longer needed and could be ignored.
