Correct me if I'm wrong. As I understand it, the commission report draws
the salesperson's name(s) from the Sales Order. We put two names in the
Salesperson field. An inside rep and an outside rep. The order entry
people tell me it is drawing the inside rep's name from a field in the Ship
To and dropping it in this field on the order entry screen. Apparently,
sometimes the entry folks "forget" to add the outside rep to the order,
denying him/her commission on the sales.
Assuming the above is correct, is there any way to have it automatically
drop the outside rep's name in the Salesperson field, along with the inside
rep, eliminating human error, so that they will both receive commission for
all sales to their respective customers?
Thanks in advance.

I don't think so. We've wanted this for a long time and have not seen it. A lot of our customers have plants in multiple territories so the outside reps in HQ territory and plant territory each get a split on orders going to the plant. I have some VB form check boxes that work in conjunction with some simple checking reports to "proof" that the order have been entered correctly but no way I can see to automatically "feed" the SO. Each month I end up doing half a dozen commissions corrections.
A weak workaround might be to create some combo reps and make them the default for the customer to signal to manually change to two real entries on the SO.

Perhaps you should not enter a default salesperson in the customer master
ship to. You will have to make sure to enter two sales rep on the
commission entry of order entry. Only the first one entered in the
commission screen shows on the invoice, but both salesrep show on the
commission report. I just test it in the training library.

I had to do this via an extract to CSV then import to an external Access database. But once upon a time I was sent an example RB (form Mark Pladson I believe) that uses multiple alias links to various tables to accomplish this. I'll see if I can dig that up in case it could be the core of such a report.

Hello Everyone,
I hope someone has had a similar problem and can help me. We've been
using Vantage for a year and this January brought up another company
live in Vantage. This company has commissioned Sales Reps. We just
ran the Commission Report and found that some of the Customer Master
Files did not have the correct Sales Rep account.
Does anyone have a utility that would allow me to change the Sales
Rep on an Invoice? I can change the Sales Rep in the order, but that
does not change it for the invoice. Epicor does not have a fix for
this issue.
I would really appreciate some ideas.
Thank you for your help,

A potential way around this is to create a report using the
customer.salesrep field.

Has anyone had success exporting the Commission Report to Excel? I'm
running 5.2, and I've come close to getting what I need, but some of my
results are quirky. Thanks!

I ended up exporting to Access in order to get the reporting I needed. Wrote a little RB report that creates a CSV that I then import/append to a table in Access. Main issue was reporting split commissions and sorting them within rep territory and state. Worked fine for 3+ years now. Still needs minor direct editing of the table after the import due to split and rate goofs on the sales orders but otherwise the basic process works. Perhaps you could use the RB export and see if it gets what you need in Excel. Let me know off-list if you want to try it.

Can anyone tell me if the standard commission report that comes with
Vantage is editable and where to find it. Report name seems to indicate
it should be located in the following location ar/arr60.w. When I look
in that folder I can find a file name with a .r extension but no .w.
Vantage 6.10.530

I tried this several years ago and hit a dead end. I was quoted a couple thousand dollars for custom programming to add one additional sort option in the Progress report. I even pursued having another site with source code and the programming skills to do it make a mod for us but due to license restrictions they could not. So I ended up exporting the info I need to Access and made my own report there.
