Controller Position - Chicago West Suburbs E10.2

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY:
Customer is seeking an experienced Controller who will be responsible for establishing standard
costing on all products, developing inventory valuations, and assisting in overseeing the daily financial operations of the facility. You will review ongoing work in process and completed jobs for costing completeness and identify, analyze and recommend corrective action on manufacturing variances. Additionally, you will be responsible for the annual budgeting process, monthly financial closing and required reporting; develop budgeted absorption analyses for the plant; and prepare monthly journal entries.

The Controller will also focus on strengthening financial reporting at the operational level. Daily, weekly and monthly reporting will be increased to provide additional tools to ensure more efficient operations.
Specific functions include but are not limited to:

 Developing standard costs by product, ensuring that inventories are valued accurately.
 Analyzing, reporting and challenging variances to established standards to achieve more efficient operation of the facility.
 Analyze actual manufacturing costs on a weekly and monthly basis by product preparing value added reporting comparing standard costs to actual production costs.
 Responsible for gross margin analysis and reporting by product and customer on a weekly and monthly basis providing explanation and proposing corrective actions to improve profitability.
 Collect and summarize cost information for use in controlling expenditures on a daily, weekly and monthly basis by manufacturing responsible department.
 Month-end closing and prepare journal entries as needed in Epicor 10.
 Prepare detailed analysis of sales by product and customer on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
 Implement and monitor cycle count process.
 Assists with annual budget development.
 Coordinate and lead annual inventory process.
 Daily interaction with operations management and production employees.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
 Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required and minimum 4 years cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
 Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of standard cost accounting and strong analytical skills.
 Excellent communication skills, verbal and written, and the ability to interact with all levels of the company.
 Epicor 10 experience (3 years) and preferably has led an implementation.
 Knowledge of database programs and queries.
 Experience with reporting in a standard cost accounting environment.
