Costing Workbench - difference between UNIT cost and PART cost

Hi Simon,

This is what happens in 6.1: When you do a Cost Roll-Up, Vantage will
show you the costs from your latest revision on your BOM. This is UNIT
Cost. Your PART Cost is what you have your part valued at now:
(Standard, Average or Last). To make your PART cost = to the UNIT Cost,
you need to post the roll-up. (Be careful with this, there are some
gotchas). Depending on volume, sometimes it is safer selecting specific
part numbers, part classes or product groups to post.

Subject: [Vantage] Costing Workbench - difference between UNIT cost and
PART cost

We are using costing workbench for the first time.

After
1)Rolling up costs
2)Selecting a part
3)Picking 'view costs' from the action menu of the costing workbench

The UNIT cost and PART cost appear slightly different (in the view
cost screen accessed via the Costing Workbench). Can anyone explain
why this would be and/or the difference between these fields (I have
looked at the help but this does not help much).

The costing data was created using the costing method option and has
not been modified on screen.

HELP!!!!

Thanks

Simon
