just a quick question on the count tag.
If I generate blank tags but don’t use them or have leftover blank tags, what should I do with them? Can I delete them or remove them from the list of active tags?

There is a command/process thing to void blank tags. It’s in Count Cycle Maintenance.
It works well - probably the best-designed part of cycle counting.
We have begun our physical inventory for the year and would also like to include the inventory in WIP. Could you please suggest a method for how this can be done?
Me personally, I don’t know.
We’ve never cared about WIP locations - in a PI, or on a normal day for that matter. So I would not be the one to answer. Hopefully someone else has a thought there.
My instinct says this cannot be done, though. I cannot envision what cycle-count-related tables or fields would delineate WIP from on-hand inventory.
I don’t know of any way to include it. We usually come to a clean cutoff for manufacturing (and picking/shipping for that matter)…and then start the physical counts. Either a job finishes or it doesn’t start. Our jobs are pretty simple…X hours of runtime and it’s done, we don’t have jobs that run days/weeks. If something was picked, it’d be in the SHIP bin and could be counted there.
Us too, other than that it’s 24/5 or /7 depending on the week!
I meant that items issued to a job are the components that have been issued from inventory to the job as material. Is there any way to count or get those information?
Generally only run two shifts Mon-Fri…occasionally three shifts and/or weekends if we’ve got a heavy workload. We’ll start our counts probably around 3p (which is normally the 1st/2nd shift change) tomorrow and wrap up the year.
Like the others, I know of nothing that is similar to the Physical Inventory. We would minimize WIP as much as possible and run a BAQ showing all open jobs with some material issued and check against that. Show in the BAQ parts completed so you know how much is still in WIP vs. what was accounted for in stock.
