Has anyone done this? Most of our jobs are for a qty of 1 but we have a few parts that are made in batches. We want to start having each part be identified separately so we can track its time out of the freezer (we only pull out 1 at a time). Has anyone done this? I’m trying to avoid serial numbers as we’ve never used them before and all my freezer life tracking code is based on lot number for the single piece parts.
There is a setting in Company Maintenance that specifies using the job number as the lot number as the default for job receipts. You would need to disable that first.
After that you can set up your own lot number sequence for that part. You would have to receive them one at a time and generate a new lot # for each receipt.
