Hello,
We are considering switching antivirus providers. In the past I think we have received guidance from Epicor that we should not have active antivirus scans occurring on our on-premises APP and SQL servers because of performance degradation concerns. Does anyone have experience with the following:
- Is anyone running CrowdStrike Falcon on their APP and/or SQL servers?
- Do you have CrowdStrike actively scanning?
- Have you had any problems specific to CrowdStrike?
- Do you have any performance problems with active scans?
- Do you have any additional considerations or advice?
I actually think Epicor uses CrowdStrike on there SaaS servers, If I login to my EDI HQ server it has Falcon on it. Also if you pull the event logs from your cloud instance, you see references to Falcon on it also.
Not saying CrowdStrike is the answer or the right provider, just wanted to give some info!
Crowdstrike caused a massive epicor cloud outage in July. Not really a great selling point.

This is definitely good info, thank you!
Was this the same as the global outtage from the bad update CrowdStrike pushed (I can’t rememebr when that was) or was this somethign specific to Epicor’s CrowdStrike implementation that @chriskrajewski alluded to?
Same global outage that affected all the other CrowdStrike customers
