I had a similar issue moving from a 98 to XP...check the version of
p2bxbse.dll in the 'DLL' folder of the vantage drive against the same
file in c:\%system%\crystal on the client, if they are different replace
the client with a copy from the server...worked for me, but attempt at
your own risk.

We swapped out a Win2k machine with a WinXP. Everything seems to work

We are running Crystal version 8.0.1.0. This is the first time I have
seen this behavior but its really the first time we are moving towards
an XP environment. Most of our other workstations are still Win98 with no
plans currently to update to a newer release of Vantage. Not sure at this
point what to do.

Todd,
I'm not sure what changed for you, but when we went to ver 6.1 I update
Crystal on my XPsp2 PC. I end up reinstalling it and taking it back to
version 8.5 and then adding the special patches from the Epicor site to
get it to 8.5.2.718. I had this problem with the invoices and customer
statements.

Todd, if you open your Crystal form, are the data locations correct and
does the database verify okay? The only other thing I can think of is
there might be some .ocx .dll on the original PC that are different
version then on the XP machine. Crystal seems to be very picky about
these files.

XP seems to be persistantly problematic for a lot of people. Usually the DB & Export patch from the Epicor site fixes this issue, especially on Win2K but a few people have reported it does not do the trick on XP. All this providing there is an 8.0 version on the FTP site (if it was even an issue in CR 8.0). But it's still the 1st thing I would look for.

Next (and this does apply to CR 8.0)...copy all the .dll files from the Vantage /DLL folder that are Crystal related (the ones that start with CR) to the user's System32 folder. Also, if there, copy P2BXBSE.DLL to ethe client's system32 folder. If you have to overwrite any files in system32 be sure to first rename them something like *.dll-save. Reboot the client and try again.

I've also seen where running ForceReg.bat from the Vantage folder has helped straighten up OCX issues.

Anyway, a couple more things to try.

PS....if by chance the XP client also has any 3rd party system that uses CR as a Report Writer (like FAS, PayChex, ADP, etc...) this can also confuse the .dll issues.

Thanks Nancy,
I did verify the database and its okay. As long as we are printing
out the quote on a Win98 or 2K box everything prints fine. I even
went as far as grabbing the epicwork directory from a working machine
with the DBF's and putting it on a XPsp2 box, print previewing the
information in Crystal and the data isnt visible. One thing I was
going to try is run the Vcopydll.exe to see if it will replace the dll's.

Thanks Todd,
I know what you mean with 3rd Party systems running a custom version of
Crystal. We run
Bests Abra which runs a modified version of 8.5 crystal and have had issues
with forms
on those machines in the past.

XP seems to be persistantly problematic for a lot of people. Usually the DB
& Export patch from the Epicor site fixes this issue, especially on Win2K
but a few people have reported it does not do the trick on XP. All this
providing there is an 8.0 version on the FTP site (if it was even an issue
in CR 8.0). But it's still the 1st thing I would look for.

Next (and this does apply to CR 8.0)...copy all the .dll files from the
Vantage /DLL folder that are Crystal related (the ones that start with CR)
to the user's System32 folder. Also, if there, copy P2BXBSE.DLL to ethe
client's system32 folder. If you have to overwrite any files in system32 be
sure to first rename them something like *.dll-save. Reboot the client and
try again.

I've also seen where running ForceReg.bat from the Vantage folder has helped
straighten up OCX issues.

Anyway, a couple more things to try.

PS....if by chance the XP client also has any 3rd party system that uses CR
as a Report Writer (like FAS, PayChex, ADP, etc...) this can also confuse
the .dll issues.

Nancy,
We are running Crystal version 8.0.1.0. This is the first time I have
seen this behavior but its really the first time we are moving towards
an XP environment. Most of our other workstations are still Win98 with no
plans currently to update to a newer release of Vantage. Not sure at this
point what to do.

Just wondering if anyone has run in to this problem. We are running
Vantage 5.10/Progress 9C.
We swapped out a Win2k machine with a WinXP. Everything seems to work
fine except when we print the quoteform. It will print the quote
quantities for the first line but not any of the quantity details for
lower levels. It does the same thing on any XP machine we have,
SP1 or 2, print preview shows the same as well.
I can even print preview get into Crystal Reports and I cant even see
the information. If I print preview the same quote number on a Win2k or
Win98 machine the info is there.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
