Crystal Report / Data definition problem

Epicor 9.05.701

Problem: I have added a field to a report data definition. I opened the XML file, and the data is there, when i go to crystal, i browse the field and it shows me the data. However, when i run the report on the front end of epicor, i get this error.

I imagine its something to do with the joins in crystal?..the field i’ve tried to add is “HDCase.ResolutionText”

Here is the links in the crystal report:

Here is the report data definition details…but i dont think this is the prob as the data seems to be feeding into the xml file.

sussed it…i went into crystal report / Database expert / links tab

  1. clicked order links.
  2. ticked the “link ordering is enforced” and shuffled the links into a sensible order.

Glad you got it Mark. I hadn’t seen that exact error before but I’ve had
similar situations where tweaking the links inside Crystal resolves the
issue. As you said, the data is getting into the XML so the problem was
something in Crystal.

Crystal, maybe because of familiarity, is still so much easier than SSRS to
troubleshoot like this.
