What you will need to do is setup a new report style that uses the new RDD, and then run the report using this new style/rdd. Then go into the directory that has the Epicor data directory where there should be a directory for the user account you used to run the report. Go into that directory. If you sort the directory by date modified you should be able to find the file just created, it will have a name prefix in line with the report you just ran. Take the xml file and put it somewhere so it doesn't disappear if your location does file clean up of this directory. I like to put it on a local drive so that the file isn't on a network drive while I am working with it.
Now when you open your crystal report in Crystal Reports and you get prompted for the file location, click the browse button and find the file from above. You may have to do a verify database. You should see your new fields. If you make changes to the RDD you need to re-run the report, get the XML, and change file name in the data-source location. I found that Crystal caches things (at least in some versions) so you may need to exit crystal and come back in to get it to pickup the new file.
Once you have made the changes you want on the report save a copy to the server\reports\customreports directory. Then go to the report style you created above and change the form location/name to the one you just put in the custom reports directory.

John Doe) which is stored in a completely seperate location on the C drive. It does this when I try to update the report to show the new fields I've included from Epicor.
