Crystal Reports-label printing to Dymo LabelWriter

Hi Plamen -
I guess what goes around, comes around - the original poster (RSN) was the Sys Admin who preceded me! :-) Anyway, even after she left, we still had occasional problems with printing to the Dymo labeler.

I transitioned it to a BAQ - and the current setup is "no printer" and landscape format. Since then - with the exception of when we're installing SPs and patches - we really haven't had any problems. I don't know if the BAQ adds an element of stability over a straight CR report - but who knows??

HTH -

I am completely at my wit's end about this problem and I hope any Crystal reports/specifically label reports (I'm not using the label templates offered in Crystal) expert can offer some help.
I designed a simple report to print out PartBin information for our inventory clerks to print out extra bin labels as they need. It prints out BIN, Lot, Part# info. I set it up on the Inventory Mgmt>Reports menu as a menu item to run (ODBC,sysprogress)
The problem is that while I can print out the labels ok (as in from the Vantage menu and not just Crystal developer), no one else can. I know this is workstation specific since the other users have similar Dymo Labelwriter 400 Turbo printers all attached locally via USB port.
I deleted everyone's drivers, downloaded the same version of the latest driver for the printer and set it up on everyone's PC so that we are all running the same exact version of the driver. The report is set up with no printer but is set up with appropriate margins, and to print to a 30252 address label landscape mode. The problem is that the other users see a partial portion of the label (The default size for a 30252 address label is 1" h x 3" w continuous format) in the print preview mode. I've tried adjusting every setting on the printer on the workstations and on the Report itself that I know of and perhaps I've overlooked something. Any ideas?
Thanks in advance
RSN

I would first ensure that the font being used is not specific to your
machine. It that is the case then the other machines would be using a
substitute font that will not provide the same output.

try changing there default printer?

what happens when they try and print?

Dave
Thank you Dave and Charles for your responses- Tried changing both- (font set to Arial) and printer set to default printer and I still get a square 1" x 1" format of the output label in print preview with no data across four pages. Its a definite head scratcher. Any other ideas to try.

I have a similar problem: it prints ok from print preview, but if you print direct to the Dymo (default) printer it cuts off the right half of the label[as if the right margin became 1.25"]
Does the printer need to be installed on the server?
