Crystal Reports & Left Outer Joins

Has anybody been able to get left outer joins to work with more than two
tables?

I've tried everything I can find from Progress, Merant, SeagateSoftware &
Epicor. It works with 2 tables, but I add a third (one inner join & one
outer join) and it fails.

Any ideas would be appreciated
