Crystal & User Defined Field

Wendy,
in order for the user defined fields to show up in crystal, you have
to insure
that there is an alias define in the vb field (assuming the field makes it
to the dbf).
The alias goes in the external name field. After you fill that text box,
you should
see it as a selection in your crystal designer.
good luck,

see the field after I print preview and verify.
Hey everyone!

I saw that our user defined field labels are found in the XaSyst table. Well, at least I'm only seeing the LABELS for the user defined fields. Specifically, I'm looking for the QuoteUserDate1Field. It says in Vantage that it is called QuoteHed.UserDate1. Unfortunately I haven't found the field in either the QuoteHed or XaSyst table.

Does anyone know where the QuoteHed.UserDate1 is found in Crystal?

Print preview a quote in Vantage (to create DBF file). Then in Crystal "Verify Database" to have it find any new fields. It should then show up with a similar name near the bottom of the list of fields for QuoteHed table. On the other hand if it was a field not deemed important enough to get into the DBF file your out of luck without ODBC. You could open the DBF file with Excel (or similar) and see if the data got that far.

Wendy
You can mix odbc using a subreport. I try to avoid using any
sort of calculation in them as if you don't get it right they are a pain to
debug. I have a lot of reports where I mix an ODBC "single" field subreport
with the regular canned report. (Somebody ALWAYS wants to see something
that isn't there)
