Does anyone have an idea why I can not double-click to highlight a word. I am able to left-click and drag to highlight a section, but the double click is not working.

Is that a behavior in E10 or something on my end. This might be an annoying post, but it is an annoying behavior.

It is E10 behavior.

NOOOO!!! I was hoping you were going to tell me that there was some obscure setting somewhere to set it. Why would they do that?

The editor is just not that adavanced, as you can probably tell from also lacking IntelliSense and mediocre syntax highlighting.
