I understand that Epicor supports scheduling through the task agent. For the cycle count process, I’d like to automate the printing of tags. While the parts are selected randomly each day, they have already been predefined for the current cycle period. I’d like the system to automatically print tags for the selected parts on their corresponding scheduled day. Any thoughts?
So following the Epicor Action steps needed you would first need to automate the Generate Tags action and then automate the Print Tags action, both have dialogue boxes with options.
These two actions take about 10 seconds to do. Not sure what the gain is to automate this.
One question from a process standpoint. the number of tags generated is part X bins X lot numbers (if used). So you would not want to do these steps done too far in advance of actually physically counting the parts as that would lead to a lot of counting issues potentially. Normally these two steps are done the day before or same day of counting.
Good to see you Brad!
Because counting starts at 6 AM and the manager comes in at 8AM…?
I’d do a scheduled function to generate the tags, and a second function to print them, triggered when the tag generation completes.
@JasonMcD This plus the tags require a full license and count entry can be done in MES.
You’re speaking my language: frugal. Very good point.
