Daily attendance Report builder

>>Try changing your filter: "(LaborHed.ClockInDate = 09/27/00 OR
LaborHed.ClockInDate = ?)".<<

Thanks for the tip Steve. I'm working on the same report and this works like
a charm. I used conditional printing to NOT print the record lines when the
laborhed.payhrs is zero, empty or unknown. I can't use the calculated field
like Martin suggested because the users running this report don't have
access to Report Builder to change the date.

I am trying to write a report showing daily attendance in report builder. I
want to include employees who are absent. I joined laborhead to empbasic
using a left join. The left join is being cancelled out by my filter
laborhead clockindate > 09/27/00. Absent active employees are being
excluded. I sure the solution is obvious. Unfortunately the coffee has not
kicked in yet. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Dan,
Try changing your filter: "(LaborHed.ClockInDate = 09/27/00 OR
LaborHed.ClockInDate = ?)".
The join will cause EmpBasic records without a matching LaborHed record to
report the ClockInDate as ?, which fails your first filter (ClockInDate >
9/27/00).

I created the same report but instead of a filter I used a conditional
printing on the record Band line.

1) Create a calculated field that give a blank result if the clock in date
is not the one you want.
2) In the properties of the record Band line, tick conditional printing. It
will only print the band line if the calculated field is not blank.

However this does increase the printing time significantly. If you have any
problems let me know I can send you my report.
