I am just wondering if there are many Vantage users out there who are
not using the Data Collection module. I would like to know what some of
the other labor capturing products are out there and how they integrate
with Vantage (or do they require someone manually plugging in the hours
clocked to the job?)?

Thanks in advance for your inights...

Paul
Right now we're still manually plugging in the hours for all the shop
workers. We are going to go to data collection eventually, but for now
we're still punching many keys

Paul;

We use the DC module and it seems to work fine for us. That is when the
employees do what they are suppose to. Discipline becomes a big issue, we
are trying to carry this forward into a productivity gains sharing program
we are getting off the ground. Missed or incorrect clocking that causes a
problem in gains program will not be fixed, hopefully peer pressure will
bring things around.

Steve;

Gains program measures efficiency and utilization (direct-indirect). We
consider setup time indirect. The better utilized direct labor personnel
are and more efficient, the better the productivity. We have an outside
Engineering firm that specializes in programs like this doing the ground
work. They are establishing a base line and productivity above that line
earns bonus money.

This is pretty general but gives a thumb nail sketch.

Eddy,

Thanks,

Perhaps in the future I could give you a call off line to ask a few
pointers on how you implement your program.
